The same basic frame as that used in the IMService 122404 servo router. This frame has
been modified slightly to accomodate NEMA23 stepper motors instead of Servos. When
installed, the stepper motors are all tucked behind the framework as in the servo model,
and the pulley ratio is reduced to better balance the stepper torque to the machine lead
screws. 275 oz-in minimum torque rating suggested. Stepper motors are not included
with machine frame.
Add your own CNC control system and NEMA 23 stepper motors with 1/4 dia shafts
to complete your CNC router setup.
-Moving table design gives maximum rigidity under heavy cutting conditions. Fixed
bridge has cable track to protect Z motor and homing switch wires. The Z wires are
the only wires on this type of machine, which are subjected to any flexing. Table is
14 x 26 with a full 12 x 24 of travel in X and Y. It has 1 x 1 inch grid of 1/4-20 tapped
holes to aid in fixture and workpiece mounting. The Z axis has just over 4" of clearance
-All metal construction with MIC-6 aluminum framework and hardened steel
used on all slideways and guides. Black anodize treatment of aluminum parts
provides an attractive yet hard surface protection. X and Y axes use hardened
V-track and hardened V-roller motion components. V-rollers are self cleaning
and will deflect debris and chip from the motion path. All components are
CNC machined with alignment pins which aid in assembly and automatically
result in flat, parallel and square axis motion.
-Stub acme leadscrews are used on all axes with acetal, zero backlash lead nuts
with wear compensation. All axes have knurled handles to aid in making manual
motion for setups and machine setup, alignment, and motor installation. Five
homing switches are installed and pre-wired and tested.
-No spindle or bracket is included in the base price of this frame. The Trend T4
or a water cooled precision spindle system can be added at extra cost.
